The days on the long road of one families Ethiopian Adoption

This blog started out as a way to record the twists, turns, highs and lows in my families journey to adopt siblings from Ethiopia. Now our children are home and we have just finished celebrating our first year as a family.

I'm Kimberly (or Fendesha), an adventurous person who aspires to be a vagabond- but for now- I spend all of my free time travelling and my down time thinking of travelling. I'm a mom of 3 (the oldest being my gorgeous canine companion), a IT project manager, and on occasion I find myself the primary writer of this blog.

Happy Reading and thank you for stopping by.

The most wonderful Surprise

I received a Christmas present from Ethiopia yesterday. I was so excited to receive the box-that it didn't matter what was inside of it. With eyes brimming with Tears I opened it- inside contained the most precious item!!! A silk piece of material with embroidered and beaded edges. On the material are the hand prints of the first few children to be sponsored by Hayel (the small non-profit I'm in the paperwork phase of opening). I was in tears!!!! Please enjoy the picture!!!

But that's not all- included also was the Berbere that my family makes so we can make Ethiopian food that tastes like what I had for the many months of living with them- and a hand made card (and photo) of a little girl named Kalkidan that I fell in love with while in country. The package flooded my mind and heart with memories as it even smelled like their home.

With joy bursting out of me- I close this post!
Hugs,
Kim
