The days on the long road of one families Ethiopian Adoption

This blog started out as a way to record the twists, turns, highs and lows in my families journey to adopt siblings from Ethiopia. Now our children are home and we have just finished celebrating our first year as a family.

I'm Kimberly (or Fendesha), an adventurous person who aspires to be a vagabond- but for now- I spend all of my free time travelling and my down time thinking of travelling. I'm a mom of 3 (the oldest being my gorgeous canine companion), a IT project manager, and on occasion I find myself the primary writer of this blog.

Happy Reading and thank you for stopping by.

2589 miles, 2 toddlers...in a VW Bug.

And we're off- on Friday , we start a 2589 mile trip bringing us from home to Florida and back again.  We're off to see Family, make New Friends, visit with Old Friends, tip our ears to Mickey, see Dinosaurs, look inside airplanes, see where the president lives, swim a bit, hang out at playgrounds and visit historical Williamsburg.  I've added a ton of Ethiopian Restaurants to my Magellan in hopes of visiting one or two while on our way too - yum yum..

Those are my hopes- in reality-this trip may simply turn into sleeping and swimming in a bunch of in-expensive hotels-looking for the nearest U-Turn-laugh-but we're open minded to see where the road brings us and what adventures await us.  Our first adventure- the stroller doesn't fit in the car-nor does anything else for that matter.  Be certain to wave if you see 3 people in their underwear driving south- ha ha.  Daddy is joining us for the excitement of the beginning and end of the trip- I just haven't figured out where I'm going to put him yet.

After one year home-this little travel girl is finding herself again- only this time as a mom.  And I'm sooo excited to finally be able to do what I've always dreamed of.. begin to teach and show my children the wonders of this world.

So,  I'm.starting as my grandparents did- with the appreciation of your our own back yard....  We will return home on H and D's one year anniversary in the US..   H + D, I love you and even though you are young- may mommy's first gift to you-be one that you have pictures of always...I just pray that I'm packing enough energy and excitement that I too will be smiling in those pics!!!

Welcome to America my sweets!
